Northwest Plaza Wiki was a long time coming. I first heard about it on Labelscar. At the time, it was down on its luck but still had all the fixings of a "cool mall": an amazing floorplan, a neat late 1980s décor, four department stores, and a big food court. It had recently gone through Westfield ownership (which added some "big box stores") and was heading for another renovation: a partial de-mall with two new anchors: Wal-Mart Supercenter (replacing the Dillard's wing) and IKEA (replacing the food court). Ultimately, though, it was not to be and anchors started pulling out: Steve & Barry's closed in November, Dillard's a few months later. A few years later, Macy's and Sears bit the dust too.

And it was becoming painfully obvious that Northwest Plaza died not of competition, but of crime, just like Mall of Memphis [1] before it.

I felt that I would make this website and preserve Northwest Plaza on the Internet as it will not be preserved in reality.
